Asser Malik and Pakastani activist for girls’ education Malala Yousafzai got married on 9th November 2021. Their intimate ceremony was held in Birmingham, England.

The human rights activist took to Instagram to announce their wedding to the public. She captioned the post, “Today marks a precious day in my life. Asser and I tied the knot to be partners for life. We celebrated a small nikkah ceremony at home in Birmingham with our families. Please send us your prayers. We are excited to walk together for the journey ahead.” The post had also a series of snaps from the intimate ceremony that you can see down below.

Who is Asser Malik?

Asser Malik was born in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan who is a businessman and industrialist. He is currently working for the Pakistan Cricket Board as their High-Performance General Manager since May 2020. Pakistan Cricket Board is the sports governing body for cricket in Pakistan responsible for controlling and organizing all tours and matches undertaken by the country’s national team.

Even though his exact date of birth is not revealed it is estimated that he might be in his 30s. He has kept his personal details and his family details under the wraps from media and the Internet so not much is known about him.

He is well educated. According to his LinkedIn profile, he graduated from the Aitchison College in Lahore, Pakistan in 2008. He also received his bachelor’s degree n economics and political science from the Lahore University of Management Sciences in 2012.

Career

Talking about his career, he worked as the HR Intern for Engro Foods Limited for two months from Jun 2011 to Jul 2011. After that, he worked for AkzoNobel as a Key Account Manager in Jul 2012. He worked for the company for 9 months till Deb 2013 and he joined Coco-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited in May 2013. He worked as a management trainee in the company for 8 months until he got promoted to Sales Specialist in November 2013.

He worked for another 8 months for the Coco-Cola Beverages Pakistan Limited and became the Cultural/Event Coordinator for the LGS Paragon in July 2014. He organized various programs for the School and later he became the co-founder of the Desi Tour Project in February 2015.

After that, he became the operational manager for the Multan Sultans, a professional cricket franchise in Pakistan in December 2018. He also worked as the curator for Global Shapers Community for almost 4 years from Jul 2016 to May 2020.

In September 2018, he became the director of operations for Grassroots Cricket. And for the past six years, he has worked for the Last Man Stands in Pakistan as the Franchise Owner. Over the years LMS Pakistan has revived grassroots cricket in Pakistan in an organized and structured and helped amateur and recreational players experience.

Currently, he is working for the Pakistan Cricket Board as their High-Performance General Manager since May 2020.

In an interview, Malala had told that she wasn’t sure if she would ever marry and she didn’t understand why people had to get married. She told, “If you want to have a person in your life, why do you have to sign marriage peppers, why can’t it just be a partnership?”

As well as they didn’t announce their relationship to the public until their intimate ceremony. Asser had only given some shoutouts and two group photos that included Malala.

Recently he made a tweet where he wrote, “In Malala, I found the most supportive friend, a beautiful and kind partner — I’m so excited to spend the rest of our life together. Thank you all for the wishes on our Nikkah. In following our cricket team’s tradition, we had to do a victory cake cutting.”
