Ellen Marie Allen is the wife of the late Bishop Rance Allen. He was a Gospel singer and the founder of the Rance Allen Group. Bishop Allen died on October 31 at 71 years of age. Allen was generally referred to as “The Father of Contemporary Gospel Music.”
During his very successful career, Allen was awarded five Grammy Awards. He once performed for President Barack Obama. And the coolest bit is that he even recorded a song with Snoop Dogg.

Moving on to Allen, he founded the Rance Allen Group with his brothers Steve and Thomas. Steve was a bassist while Thomas played the drums.
The band was started in Michigan in 1969. They were a band that revolutionized the gospel sound.
Allen moved to Ohio in 1985 and was then selected a Pastor of New Bethel Church of God. Allen also recorded the song ‘Blessed Me Again’ with Snoop Dogg as the part of the Rapper’s 2018 Gospel Album Bible of Love. Allen told that someone had played a prank on him when the project was brought to him.
But later, things got sorted and Allen even performed with Uncle Snoop. The collaboration spread Allen’s music to a much wider Hip-Hop audience as well.
In the month of February, Allen was celebrated in Toledo as a part of Black History Month. The Imagine Madison School of Arts even named one of it’s school wings after Allen to honor his memory. This was a nice gesture by the school.
