Ben Affleck is an actor and filmmaker. Born on August 15, 1972 in Berkeley, California, he has been a fixture of Hollywood since 1997 when he starred alongside Jodie Foster in the film ‘Contact’. He followed this up with appearances as a high school bully who gets his comeuppance from Matt Damon’s character in both ‘Good Will Hunting’ and ‘Dogma’. Affleck then went on to star in a number of critically acclaimed films, including ‘Pearl Harbor’, which grossed over $450 million worldwide.

In 2002 he wrote the screenplay for and starred in what many consider his best work as an actor: ‘Gone Baby Gone’, based on the novel by Dennis Lehane. He then went on to direct and star in ‘The Town’, which grossed over $200 million at the box office, before directing his fifth film, a drama about military veterans who are suffering from PTSD called ‘Argo’. The latter won him both an Oscar for Best Director as well as another Golden Globe Award for Best Director.
